Soil Food Web

Healthy soils are a dynamic living system, playing host to millions of beneficial microorganisms such as fungi, bacteria, protozoa, and as well as nematodes.  By the use of compost we are able to kickstart the interactions of all these microorganisms that will provide plants with many of the requirements for a thriving healthy plant.  By using compost you will improve the availability & retention of nutrients, disease suppression, and the building of soil structure. Soil biology is one of the aspects that has been overlooked over the years with many growers preferring to settle for something delivering a quick short term fix to the problem.  Below is a diagram that helps explain the Soil Food Web and all the interactions that take place.
